Our People

As with any organization or company, it all starts at the top. That’s where you’ll find Founder and President, Gary White.

Gary White

Gary White has been tackling strategic marketing challenges for over 30 years. He started Pacific Crest Marketing in 1986 after seven years on both the agency and client sides of the advertising business.

With over 25 consecutive years as a consultant, he has worked on branding, positioning and messaging for clients such as Citibank, Del Monte, DHL, Domaine St. George, Hewlett Packard, Novartis, VISA, Wells Fargo and YAHOO!

Public sector and non-profit work includes projects for the California Alumni Association, Special Olympics, Bay Area Consultants Network, Northern California Public Broadcasting (formerly KQED), the American Marketing Association, Full Court Press, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Russian River Valley Winegrowers and the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts.

Gary is valued not only for his strategic thinking and troubleshooting but also for his innovative work in the field of facilitated meetings. He has designed and conducted over 1,000 meetings including focus groups, customer advisory boards, brainstorming, strategic planning sessions and executive interviews.

Mr. White specializes in uncovering, defining and communicating the value his clients deliver to their customers. His background in psychology, advertising and marketing research has been indispensable to clients in their quest for superb facilitation skills, astute interpretations of buyers' emotional dispositions and turning insights into sales.

What’s more, he has worked all over the world; in London, Paris, Munich, Glasgow, Oslo, Basel, Montreal, Toronto, San Juan, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Closer to home, Gary is known to many in the San Francisco Bay Area marketing community as a past president of the American Marketing Association. He is also visible as a founding board member of BACN, the Bay Area Consultants Network.

A guest lecturer at USC’s Marshall School of Business and at NYU’s Stern School of Business, Gary has also been showcased on United Airlines’ Sky Radio discussing the proprietary “CEO Gut Check™”.

On a personal note, Gary is an accomplished blues musician who plays piano and the Hammond B3 organ. He is currently recording (CD available on iTunes) and performing with The Tornotics.
